Eva Neer, 1939-2000, BA, 1957, Barnard College; MD, 1963, Columbia University; biochemist and cardiologist, was named Assistant Professor in Biochemistry at Harvard Medical School in 1976 and was appointed Professor in Medicine in 1991. Neer was named associate in medicine at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (later Brigham and Women's Hospital) in 1976, and later became biochemist in 1982. Neer's research focused on understanding the molecular basis for cell responses to external signals and analyzing the function of G proteins.
