Provenance
These dermoid ovarian tumors were extracted from two patients of Dr. Porter, from Providence, RI. Both patients, a Swede and an American, were females between 20-25 years-old and nulliparous. One was married and one was single. Out of the hundreds of surgeries he'd performed, these were the only teeth he had found in dermoid tumor, prompting his eagerness to present them to Dr. Forrest G. Eddy at a conference. The teeth were prepared at an unknown point and gifted by Dr. Eddy to the Harvard Dental School Museum in 1903.
