H MS c424 Description An account of the resource Richard Upjohn Light (1902-1994), B.A., 1924, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut; M.D., 1928, University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor; Pilot, 1929, U.S. Army Air Corps Flying School with Wings, was a resident in neurosurgery at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts (now Brigham and Women's Hospital) from 1929 to 1933, and served under surgeon Harvey Cushing (1969-1939) during Cushing's final five months of service at the Brigham Hospital. From 1937 to 1968, Light was a director of the Upjohn Company, the pharmaceuticals company founded by his grandfather, William E. Upjohn. Scope and content: Photographic negatives for images taken by Richard U. Light (1902-1994) of senior medical and surgical staff of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, from 1930 to 1935, during the period of his surgical residency.
