He was an authority on calcium metabolism, metabolic bone diseases, and the physiology and pathology of the parathyroid glands.
The bulk of the collection dates from 1910 to 1958, and contains Albright's general correspondence files, patient files, and personal papers. Correspondence documents the research of Albright on endocrinology, and on conditions such as osteoporosis, kidney stones, and Albright's syndrome; his practice and teaching at Massachusetts General Hospital; and involvement in professional organizations. Files also contain minutes and agendas of meetings, and manuscripts of papers and speeches as well as manuscripts and reprints of colleagues. Patient files include correspondence, case histories, charts and other records. Other material includes extensive correspondence with family and friends throughout his life, personal medical records, photographs and biographical information.</text>
