Description
Financier and industrialist J. Pierpont Morgan was the most significant benefactor to the construction of the Quad buildings. His magnificent gift of $1,135,000—the single largest donation received by Harvard to that point—underwrote the construction of three of the five buildings of the campus along with their connecting terraces. In this letter to J. Collins Warren, Morgan signifies his intention of attending the dedication ceremonies.
