Description
This unusual album of carte-de-visitephotographs was assembled by Dr. Samuel Gregg, the first homeopathic practitioner in Massachusetts. In addition to photographs of Gregg, the album contains portraits of many of the homeopaths of New England, including Conrad Wesselhoeft and I. T. Talbot, along with other figures prominent in the movement, such as Constantine Hering and publisher Otis Clapp.
This picture is of Israel Tisdale Talbot, one of the members who was ejected from the Massachusetts Medical Society for practicing homeopathy.
