Description

Dr. John Ware followed James Jackson in the Harvard professorship of the theory and practice of physic. He was an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine and Surgery and the first editor of the Boston Medical and Surgical Journal and one of the founding members of the Boston Society for Medical Improvement.

He was a Trustee and the last Clerk of the Boston Medical Library.
