Part of a collection of photographic negatives for images taken by Richard U. Light (1902-1994) of senior medical and surgical staff of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, from 1930 to 1935, during the period of his surgical residency. Title, abstract, and year are taken from original captions on negative sleeves.

"1932-3. Boston, Mass. P.B.B.H. Dr. Cushing at his desk in the single room allotted to him after his retirement as Surgeon-in-Chief when Elliott Cutler took over the rest of the office space. This room was extremely hot in the summer-time."
