Hollow plaster case of head, neck, and upper portion of thorax of 10 year old boy with tumor on left side, painted white
Abstract
Frank Silvie entered the Massachusetts General Hospital on February 2, 1875. The tumor was then of 2 years' duration. His general health was good until November and then declined. He died on February 16, 1876 at age 10. No increase in white blood corpuscles found during life. The tumor structure was found to be that of a lymph glad; large glands imbedded in fibrous tissue and forming a compact mass. Many of the glands at the borders were the size of pigeon's eggs. Extended into the mediastina, along the spine and found in the liver, spleen, kidneys, and mucous membrane of trachea and lungs.
