Provenance

The human remains were likely acquired after passage of the 1898 Act Relative to the Promotion of Anatomical Science in Massachusetts, which permitted unclaimed remains to be utilized in medical education. The humerus section, probably originating from a dissection subject at Harvard Medical School, were prepared by Parkman Professor of Anatomy Thomas Dwight and anatomy demonstrator Samuel J. Mixter for the Harvard Medical School Department of Anatomy at some point between 1884-1893.
