Provenance

These remains were most likely acquired after the passage of the 1898 Act Relative to the Promotion of Anatomical Science in Massachusetts, which permitted unclaimed remains to be utilized in medical education. This spine and rib preparation was prepared by Parkman Professor of Anatomy Thomas Dwight, from the remains of a twenty-one year old Caucasian male, who was mostly likely a dissection room subject at Harvard Medical School. Dwight donated this preparation to the Warren Anatomical Museum in 1909.
