Description

Allen Hanson Blake (1881-1941), M.D., 1904, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, worked as a doctor in the Panama Canal Zone and was on the staff of the Somerville Hospital from 1910 to 1941. He specialized in radiology and was a member of the Radiological Society of North America and the New England Roentgen Ray Society.

This collection contains medical instruments owned and used by Allen Hanson Blake. The majority of these instruments were used by Blake in his work as a doctor from 1904-1941. Many of these are laryngeal instruments. The collection also features a partial instrument from the early 19th century that Blake acquired while working in the Panama Canal Zone.
