Description

Lorenzo Niles Fowler compiled this notebook of phrenological readings of individuals encountered during his travels through upstate New York, western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky in 1834 and 1835. There are a number of examinations of lunatics, prisoners, and criminals, including this assessment of G. H. Clark of Ithaca, who was accused of murdering his wife.

Abstract

A phrenological reading by Lorenzo Niles Fowler of G. H. Clark, who murdered his own wife, as found in his notebook, the Collection of Phrenological Cards, 1834-1835 (inclusive).
