Description

Black enamel compound monocular microscope with brass knobs and objectives. Circular mirror light scope. Three objectives attached to scope. Contained in wooden microscope case with brass handle. Case contains four objectives housed in interior boxes. Small interior box contains two slide clips, slide covers, one circular glass piece and two slide clips.

Abstract

Monocular microscope made of enamel and brass, formerly of Guy's Hospital, London, later owned and used by Lynne M. Reid.

Provenance

In the 1920s the microscope was sold by the Guy's Hospital in London. Lynne Reid acquired the instrument and later donated it with her personal paper collection [HMS c 156] on 7/31/2006. The scope was later transferred into the Warren Anatomical Museum collection.
