Provenance
This person received a wound from a grape-shot, on board of the Enterprize, in her action with the Boxer. A seton was passed in treatment, which remained three months, but without any improvement, the motion between the bones being quite free. After the patient eventually passed, Solomon D. Townsend collected his ununited humerus and donated it to the Boston Society for Medical Improvement. The BSMI cabinet was physically transferred into the Warren Anatomical Museum in 1883.
