Essex's Work on HTLV, STLV, HIV, and AIDS

Essex recognized the similarities and parallels between animal and human retroviruses, and became involved with human retrovirus research increasingly in the 1980s and 1990s, especially focused on HTLV (HumanT-Cell Lymphotrophic Viruses) and HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), becoming especially involved with research surrounding the structure, spread, treatment, and cure of AIDS. These records display some of his work on the topic of these human retroviruses, including their comparison to simian and other animal retroviruses.
