An equally heartfelt testimonial to the Harvard Surgical Unit is preserved in the scrapbook of one of its nurses, Helen F. Kimmens. A poem, written by a former patient, Gilbert Bridge, concludes

Harvard t'was a splendid deed
When you supplied a vital need
And sent us aid to carry on
Promising more 'til wars are won
A noble work for a worthy end
